En eller annan makeover i hemmet

Eftersom jag har påsklov just nu så har jag haft tid för lite pyssel. Mycket tid har ägnats åt vitrinskåpet förstås, men jag har hunnit med lite andra saker också.

Vi har ett litet hemmakontor i sovrummet med ett gammalt fint skrivbord som vi hittade på Blocket. Ovanför bordet sitter dessa hyllor som jag länge velat styla till på något fint sätt, men inte riktigt haft några idéer kring. Här om dagen tog jag äntligen tag i det och ramade in några små bröllopsfoton (vi har inte tagit oss för att framkalla något stort än) samt ställde dit de stora bokstäverna som tidigare stått i vardagsrummet. Igår köpte jag en fin liten dokumentbyrå också, som jag är mycket nöjd med. För några månader sen fick alla pärmar matchande etiketter, förutom Martins pärm. Han ville inte ha en blommig etikett (tänka sig!) så jag gjorde en stiliserad Ferrari på hans etikett istället. Allt som allt så känner jag mig nöjd med den här lilla hörnan nu, även om jag säkert kommer att göra om mer i framtiden.

Jag såg en fin bokstavsplansch i Äntligen hemma här om dagen och beslutade mig för att göra en egen variant som är lite mer i min stil. Den har nu blivit inramad och får stå med LOVE-bokstäverna, Martins stora kotte och Keep Calm-trycket.

Jag tog mig också för att rama in lite andra saker som jag har haft liggande. Det fina trycket har jag laddat ner gratis någonstans (minns tyvärr inte var), det är Belle & Boo som har gjort det. Tavlan till höger består av en gammal ram som jag tror tidigare innehöll en baby-bild av mig samt en sida ur en gammal botanikbok, jag köpte trycket i en liten antikaffär på Vaxholm. Det känns så kul att få förnya hemmet en smula, nu känns det redo inför våren!

Since I'm on Easter holiday right now I've had some extra time to improve our home. A fair amount of time has been spent working on the glass cabinet, but I've had time for other stuff too.
We have a little home office in our bedroom (unfortunate, but what can you do when you live in a two room apartment!) with a pretty old desk that we found through a buy/sell site. These shelves are above the desk and I've long wanted to do a pretty arrangement on them, but not really known what to do. The other day I came up with some ideas and framed a couple of small wedding photos (we haven't ordered the blowup yet) and put them on the shelves, along with the big letters that were previously in the livingroom.

Yesterday I bought a little document drawer that I'm very happy about, I love how the red pops against the other colours. A couple of months I gave all the binders matching labels, except for Martin's binder. He didn't want a flowery label (can you imagine that!) so I made a stilized Ferrari for him instead. All in all I feel very happy about this little corner now, even though I'm sure I'll want to do some more changes to it in the future.

The other day I saw a pretty print with letters on a home decorating show on tv and decided to make my own take on it. It's now been framed and is standing next to the LOVE-letters, Martin's big pine cone and the Keep Calm-print. I also took the time to frame some other things that I've had lying around. The pretty print on the bottom photo is from Belle & Boo and I've downloaded it for free somewhere (I can't remember where though). The picture on the right is a page from an old book, I bought it in an antiques shop outside of Stockholm when we were there on our little honeymoon last summer. I framed it with an old frame that I think used to hold a baby photo of me. It's so much fun to make some changes to the home, now I feel like it's ready for spring!
