Pelargoner x 2

Så här ser det ut i vårt pyttelilla vardagsrumsfönster.

Den här pelargonen fick jag av en elev vid förra årets avslutning. Efter vintervilan klippte jag ner den helt och hållet och den har tagit sig riktigt bra. Förhoppningsvis får den lite blommor snart också.

Det blev tre små sticklingar och här är en av dem. De andra två har faktiskt växt mycket bättre, men den här har tagit sig sen jag nöp bort det sista "originalbladet". Ett långt tag försökte jag få sticklingarna att rota i ett vattenglas, men det hände aldrig och jag gav nästan upp hoppet om att jag skulle få några fler pelargoner. Sen fick jag ett tips av min svärmor Christine om att sätta dem direkt i jorden och det fungerade jättebra. De växer och skjuter blad, i den andra krukan börjar det till och med komma blommor!

This is how things look in the tiny window in our livingroom. The top photo shows the geranium that one of my pupils gave me when school ended last summer. After letting it rest through the winter I cut it down completely and it's recovered really well. I'm just hoping it'll get some flowrs soon.

When I cut it down I got three cuttings and the bottom photo shows one of them. The other two are in another pot and they've actually grown much more. For a while I tried to get the cuttings to grow roots in a glass of water but that never happened and I almost gave up the hope that I should have any more geraniums. Then my mother in law Chrstine said she'd heard that you could put them directly in the pot and that has worked out great. They're growing new leaves and in the other pot the cuttings are about to blossom!
